The Baby-Sitters Club author Ann M. Martin has a dream project of hers she wants as a movie or tv series - and its not the Baby-Sitters Club
While The Baby-Sitters Club has been adapted, there’s another story Martin would like to see on screen

During New York Comic Con 2025, Popverse’s Ashley V. Robinson got the opportunity to sit down with literary legend Ann M. Martin. The author and creator of The Baby-Sitters Club had plenty of thoughts to share during her first visit to a comic convention. And one of the pieces of information Martin shared was which non-Baby-Sitters Club book she’s authored she’d most like to see adapted to the screen.
The topic was raised when Robinson asked, “If I were the Queen of All Media, and I gave you the power to green-light an adaptation of anything you’ve ever worked on, what would you most like to see come into a film or a television sphere?” Martin promptly answered that she’d selected A Corner of the Universe, her 2002 young adult novel.
“It was loosely based on my uncle, who I never met,” Martin elaborated. “This was the story of a young girl who meets an uncle that she didn’t know she has, and the relationship and what happens to him at the end of their friendship.” Because of how close to home the story hits, A Corner of the Universe has personal meaning for Martin. “It was a family story, so it had a lot of meaning for me.”
There are other reasons Martin would like to see the book adapted, too. “[I]t was one of the first books I wrote after The Baby-Sitters Club that was set in a different time period,” Martin said. “And it was fun to spread my wings a little bit and write about something completely different.”
