Watch Then/Now: The Evolution of Your Career Since That 1st Book with Melissa de la Cruz, Meg Cabot, Ann M. Martin, Libba Bray, & Kami Garcia from Bookcon 2026!

Cruz, Cabot, Martin, Bray, and Garcia (authors of the Blue Bloods, Princess Diaries, Baby-Sitters Club, Gemma Doyle, and Beautiful Creatures series, respectively) looked back on their decades=spanning careers at NYC's BookCon

Melissa de la Cruz, Meg Cabot, Ann M. Martin, Libba Bray, and Kami Garcia have the kind of experience any aspiring novelist would kill for, but if you were at BookCon 2026, there was a whole lot less illegal way to glean some of it. That was, by attending the Then/Now: The Evolution of Your Career Since That 1st Book panel, at which the authors of the Blue Bloods, Princess Diaries, Baby-Sitters Club, Gemma Doyle, and Beautiful Creatures series, respectively, were all special guests.

Even if you couldn't make that, though, you still don't have to resort to manslaughter to soak up these storied authors' wisdom. Popverse was in the room while this panel was going down, and not only did we film it - we're making it available to you right now.

This is one of the many Bookcon 2026 panels Popverse filmed at New York City's Javits on the Hudson. Consult our Bookcon 2026 panel hub for a list of all of the panels we have available, and what's left to be released.
