He’s been The Mandalorian, The Last of Us patriarch Joel, and is soon to take over as Marvel’s Reed Richards in the upcoming The Fantastic Four: First Steps. He’s beloved for saying what everyone else thinks when it comes to transphobic authors, and he even makes mushroom chocolate. Judging by his poetry debut, the answer might be ‘apparently not.’
Yes, that’s right; I said “poetry debut.” Pascal is amongst those contributing to an anthology of poetry surrounding ideas of loss and worship assembled by Canadian musician Mustafa. He’s not the only unexpected poet in there; the book also includes poems from Channing Tatum and Grammy nominated musician Daniel Caesar, amongst others.
The anthology, Nour, is available as a free download, but for those who want to cut to the chase, his contribution was published separately in The Guardian this weekend, and it’s… actually pretty great? Does this mean that we’ll be seeing more poetry from Pascal in the future? That’s up in the air right now, but even if he doesn’t want to pursue that career right now, we already have an alternate gig should he choose to take a break from acting: interpretive dance, based on this Apple ad:
