Just when I was radiating with excitement about how To Clutch A Razor, the upcoming sequel to the novella When Among Crows, comes out in a few weeks, Veronica Roth has announced that she has a new book launching this spring! The book, Seek The Traitor's Son, will also kick off a new "short series," according to the author. 

Roth wrote on her Substack newsletter that Seek The Traitor’s Son is a “big romantic kinda-dystopian kinda-fantasy story about the daughter of a bounty hunter, the knight sworn to protect her, and the prophecy that ruins both of their lives.” She also stated that it is a “full-length” book, marking a departure from the novellas she’s written as of late. The publisher of Seek The Traitor’s Son, Tor, provided a more expanded summary of the book, which you can read below:

Elegy Ahn did not ask for destiny to find her.

She is happy with her life as a soldier. She spends her days fighting the Talusar, whose deadly Fever and mysterious gifts threaten her small country’s very existence.

But then she’s summoned to hear a prophecy–her, and the most ruthless of Talusar generals, Rava Vidar. Seek The Traitor’s Son will be released on May 12, 2026 in a deluxe hardcover format with sprayed edges. I will admit that upon finding out about the book's sprayed edges, I hunched over and did my best General Grievous impression while saying, "This will make a fine addition to my collection" of books with sprayed edges.
