Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts: Our first reaction

The Marvel Studios presentation at D23 Expo 2022 dropped an exciting announcement about The Thunderbolts formally joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Popverse’s own Ashley Victoria Robinson had a strong reaction to some of the casting news!

While Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Wyatt Russell, David Harbour, Hannah Jon-Kamen, Sebastian Stan, and Olga Kerleynko appeared live on stage with the new Black Widow, Florence Pugh, appearing via video for the announcement of The Thunderbolts movie.

The Thunderbolts is slated to hit cinemas in July 2024, starring the cast listed above (and surely more!), under the auspices of director Jake Schreier for Marvel Studios and Disney. The movie will bring together some of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most iconic anti-heroes based on Marvel Comics super team of antiheroes created by Kurt Busiek and Mark Bagley, originally in the pages of The Incredible Hulk.

The Thunderbolts will end Marvel Phase 5 which opens with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in February 2023.
