It’s beginning to look a lot like The Marvels, with the release of the third big screen outing for Marvel Studios this year — and the big screen debut of Kamala Khan — just weeks away. As Marvel and fans alike prepare for the return of Carol Danvers et al and the arrival of a new threat to Earth, new sneak peeks at the movie have been released, offering more detail on what to expect from what could be the biggest push forwards the Multiverse Saga has seen since February’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

If you’re feeling the need to catch up before the movie’s November 10 release, we’ve got you: here’s our our guide on watching all of the Captain Marvel-related movies and TV. But if you’re just looking to get all the information about the movie in one place, don’t worry: just keep reading.

Who is in The Marvels cast?

The first poster for The Marvels teased the first on-screen meeting between three different generations of MCU heroes with the tagline “Higher. Further. Faster. Together.” (An evolution to the tagline on the teaser poster for 2019’s Captain Marvel, “Higher, Further, Faster.”) Those heroes are Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel at the center of things — literally — alongside Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Harris) and Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani).

Here is the full cast as we know it (so far):

  • Brie Larson as Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel
  • Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau
  • Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan / Ms. Marvel
  • Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury
  • Zawe Ashton as Dar-Benn
  • Saagar Shaikh as Aamir Khan
  • Zenoia Shroff as Muneeba Khan
  • Mohan Kapur as Yusuf Khan
  • Daniel Ings as Ty-Rone
  • Park Seo-joon as Prince Yan

Also mentioned in as-yet-unspecified roles are Caroline Simonnet and Jessica Zhou.

Carol's pet Flerken, Goose, who resembles a cat, will also return for The Marvels - but its unclear if the original cats who played Goose - Reggie, Gonzo, Rizzo, and Archie from Boone's Animals for Hollywood - will be returning. Stay tuned.

What is The Marvels plot?

Much could be taken from this sequel to Captain Marvel once they revealed the title: The Marvels. Connecting Larson, Harris, and Khan together is a bold move, and in many ways the first MCU team-up of female characters in a substantial way. The official description of the movie runs like this:

"In Marvel Studios’ The Marvels, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as The Marvels."

And a final one launching the week of the movie's release on November 7

Marvel Studios has also released a featurette, featuring clips featuring each Marvel from their previous appearances in the MCU. Watch it here:

Where are The Marvels posters?

The Marvels has had a number of posters released to date; click on the gallery below to see them all.

What is The Marvels release date?

The Marvels is scheduled to be released November 10, 2023. That's four months later than the late June date previously scheduled; the movie had been scheduled for July 8, 2022, then November 11, 2022, and then February 17, 2023, before seemingly settling into a July 28, 2023 date — and then finally being moved one last time, to the November 2023 date.

How does The Marvels connect to the MCU?

Judging from the trailer, Nick Fury will play a significant role in The Marvels, meaning that it’s likely the movie will pick up some threads from the recently completed Secret Invasion miniseries on Disney+ — including, perhaps, that show’s killing of a character who played a big role in 2019’s Captain Marvel. We also know that The Marvels will pick up on the origins of Ms. Marvel’s bangle from her own Disney+ series, with the movie’s director suggesting that this thread could have an impact on the larger Multiverse Saga of the MCU moving forward. This could be bigger than anyone is letting on.

How can I watch The Marvels?

You can see The Marvels when it hits theaters November 10, 2023. Buy tickets on Fandango or Atom Tickets.
