Danny DeVito remembers "lusting after" Catwoman Michelle Pfeiffer on the set of Batman Returns

"I kind of feel like she liked it," Danny DeVito says about his crush on Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman as they filmed 1992's Batman Returns together

For a generation of fans, 1992’s Batman Returns offered a Penguin and Catwoman for the ages, with Danny DeVito and Michele Pfeiffer’s time as the iconic DC villains cementing themselves in the minds of the audience thanks to some great writing, fearless performances, and in the case of Pfeiffer’s Catwoman, that costume choice. Somehow, it’s reassuring to know that at least one of the actors involved seems to have similar feelings about the whole thing, as Danny DeVito shared recently.

Specifically, Danny DeVito seems to be as in love with Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman as everyone else.

“I’m not comparing anything, but I’m just saying, she was a goddess,” DeVito said about the actress during a conversation with Colin Farrell for Variety. “If I knew she was going to be in a scene that day […] I got all flushed. Put extra makeup on — ‘Give me another pound of makeup.’ It was very difficult.”

“I lusted after her,” he added, later in the conversation, and it was unclear if he was talking about Danny DeVito the actor, or Oswald Cobblepot, the character he played. “I kind of feel like she liked it. She liked Oswald.”

Well, look at him. What’s not to like?
