You may have first been introduced to Bryce Dallas Howard when she played Gwen Stacy in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3, but she's hoping to return to the world of Marvel as a director.
In case you missed it, Bryce Dallas Howard has steadily been building a body of work as a director over the past decade. She has directed episodes of Star Wars shows like The Book of Boba Fett, The Mandalorian, Skeleton Crew, and the upcoming season of Ahsoka, and now, she is looking to expand her horizons with a project for Marvel Studios.
At Emerald City Comic Con 2026, our host Martin Vavra spoke with Bryce Dallas Howard about her career and what she would love to do next.
"I would love to one day find the chance to work as a filmmaker with Marvel. I went to NYU and I'm good friends with [Spider-Man: Homecoming director] Jon Watts and [Thunderbolts* director] Jake Schreier. And through Mandalorian, I've gotten to know Taika [Waititi] and Ken Branagh, I've worked with him, and obviously Jon Favreau," Howard said. "It's just such a creatively rich environment and world. And it's fun being one of the Gwen Stacys, and I would love to get to lean into that at some point."
Could Bryce Dallas Howard be expressing her desire to direct a Spider-Gwen project? Maybe. See for yourself with the entire interview below.
