Before a James Gunn Superman movie sequel, David Corenswet’s Superman will appear in another DC Studios project before 2028
David Corenswet’s Superman next DCU appearance is already planned, and we’ll see it in less than two years

I know Superman isn’t in theaters yet, but I’m already wondering when we’ll see David Corenswet’s Man of Steel next. After all, James Gunn and Peter Safran are building a new DC Universe for film and television, and it stands to reason that Superman will be making an appearance in some of those other projects.
I’m not the only one wondering this, because James Gunn was recently asked about Superman’s next appearance.
“A couple of years. Well, no, you’ll see him before then,” Gunn tells Phase Hero’s Brandon Davis. “You’ll see the character before then.”
Parseing down the common interpretation of "a couple of" as two, and laying out that across the announced DCU projects over the next two years, and that narrows it down to the TV shows Peacemaker season 2 and Lanterns season 1, along with the Supergirl and Clayface movies. Supergirl seems like the obvious choice, but I could easily see the character appearing in Lanterns. However, my money is on Peacemaker. Superman and Peacemaker were both filmed in Atlanta at the same time, with their soundstages next to one another - and Gunn is directing at least three episodes of Peacemaker season 2 so it would have been easy to film a small cameo.
Then again, Gunn never said it was only one appearance.
Superman hits theaters on July 11.
