Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale’s release date is coming this fall and, once again, offers a taste of extravagance and drama to audiences everywhere.

The final Downton Abbey movie has been in the works for over a year, but we have to wait a little bit longer to see how things wrap up for the Crawley family. Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale will be released on September 12, 2025 in cinemas across the US. This puts it alongside plenty of other big releases in the fall, which include Mortal Kombat 2 and Wicked: For Good.
Most of the main cast of Downton Abbey are returning for the third movie, including Paul Giamatti, Hugh Bonneville, and Laura Carmichael. Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale follows the Crawley family and staff as they face a new challenge – the 1930s, a decade that famously had no challenges or societal upheaval of any kind. We expect there to be a sense of hope as the final curtain of Downton Abbey falls. Will your favorite get the happy ending they want? Or will they get the ending they truly deserve? We’ll find out soon.
