The Fantastic Four trailer is here to remind you that Thing actor Ebon Moss-Bachrach was in The Bear
"Cousin! It's clobberin' time!" Ebon Moss-Bachrach's Richie Jerimovich and Ben Grimm are both commanding in the kitchen, though one seems to have much better instincts

The Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer is here, and we got to see The Bear actor Ebon Moss-Bachrach in both human and rock form. We also got a reminder, for a large portion of the trailer, that Ebon Moss-Bachrach was indeed in The Bear, as Ben Grimm spends most of his trailer screen-time talking about food.
Specifically, Moss-Bachrach's Thing is going over food made by H.E.R.B.I.E., the Fantastic Four's robot assistant and, in this film, seemingly their personal chef. Thing tries a sauce that H.E.R.B.I.E. has whipped up and, though he seems to like it, decides to put his own spin on it.
"I'm gonna add a couple cloves of garlic," says Ben Grimm, "Not because it's not delicious, I just want to add a little zip."
Fans of Moss-Bachrach's previous work as Richie Jerimovich from Hulu's Emmy-winning The Bear will not doubt be reminded of his character from that series, with some pretty huge differences. First of all, Richie would never be that nice about food, and not too offend one of Jack Kirby's greatest creations, but Richie has an objectively better palette. Just saying, "a couple cloves of garlic" will add way more than "a little zip" to any dish. Maybe tastebuds change when they take rock form, because that is gonna be strong.
Now, food isn't just a big deal for the Ever-Lovin' Blue-Eyed Thing. Some of the very first official dialogue we got out of Pedro Pascal's Reed Richards, AKA Mr. Fantastic, was an explanation of how Marvel's First Family meets for a weekly dinner "Sunday at 7, no matter what." We'll see whether "no matter what" includes an invasion from Galactus... Who, if you think about it, will spend this movie trying to do his own Sunday dinner.
Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four: First Steps arrives in theaters July 23, 2025.
