Vin Diesel knows you've been waiting years for the last Fast and Furious movie (and he's grateful)

Fast Forever's release date is currently slated for early 2028. And Diesel, AKA Dom Toretto, knows that's a long way away from Fast X

For a franchise whose whole thing is speed, it's a little crazy to think about how slowly the next Fast & Furious film is working its way into theaters. That movie, Fast Forever, is currently steering toward a 2028 release, putting about 5 years in between it and the most recent entry, Fast X. For you adrenaline junkies out there who've become lifelong fans of the cinematic saga, that's a very long time, but if there's one thing to take comfort in, it's that Vin Diesel knows your pain.

The franchise lead recently took to Instagram to look head toward the eleventh (and last) movie in the saga, which has been pedal-to-the-medalling its way through pop culture since 2001. In, series star (and one-time Critical Role guest) Diesel specifically calls out to the fans that have been waiting for going on three years with no Dom Toretto on their movie screens.

"I just wanted to take a second to say thank you," Diesel said, "You guys are the best audience in the world, best fans in the world. You’ve been patient to the industry, you’ve been patient to the studio and you’ve been patient with me. Over the past three and a half years, we’ve been grinding to try to make the most amazing finale."

Diesel, who was on Fast Forever's set as he was making the video, said that the "People are grinding. Incredible crews are working," to get the final project to where it needs to be.

"Through it all," he concluded, "One thing I know is, I can feel your support, and that means the world to me. So, let me get back to this filming, and just know that I hope to make you all proud."

Fast Forever is slated for release March 17, 2028.
