Disney is working on a Monster Jam movie with the Rock
It's time to roll out with the Rock's next surprise move

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is trading in one sports entertainment field for another, as the wrestler-turned-actor is leading a live action movie based on the touring monster truck show known as Monster Jam. Announced just now at D23 Expo 2024, there's little details on the Monster Jam movie beyond that, although I would assume the Rock isn't playing one of the monster trucks itself, but perhaps a driver.
(The Rock has range, but there's limits.)
This isn't Johnson's first dalliance with monster trucks or Monster Jam - the tour was featured in his HBO series Ballers, and he and the WWE partnered on a Rock-themed monster truck in the late '90s.
This would also be the second attempt at a Monster Jam movie: in 2003 the touring brand partnered wirh Clear Channel on a live-action film which went so far as to begin filming before being aborted.
Monster Jam is owned by Feld Entertainment, so this would be Disney making a rare movie into doing a licensed movie.
