Mortal Kombat II release date: When the anticipated sequel will arrive in movie theaters

The theatrical release date for Mortal Kombat II is coming up before too long.

The next installment of the smash hit action franchise is blasting into theaters before you know it. Mortal Kombat II is soon to be involved in a no-holds-barred brawl at a movie theater near you! And this time around, the cast will be even more expansive than it was last time. So when can you expect the release date for Mortal Kombat II to arrive?

The Mortal Kombat II release date is May 15, 2026 in theaters. The movie was originally scheduled for release on October 24, 2025, but was subsequently delayed. It’s been several years since the previous movie, Mortal Kombat, was released on April 23, 2021. Mortal Kombat II will be the fourth movie based on the video games of the same name. And those behind the movie, like director Simon McQuoid, have made it clear that they’d like to make more. Mortal Kombat II will introduce Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, Adeline Rudolph as Kitana and Tati Gabrielle as Jade. There will also be several returning actors from the first movie. These include  Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, Mehcad Brooks as Jax, Chin Han as Shang Tsung, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Josh Lawson as Kano, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Hiroyuki Sanada as Hanzo Hasashi / Scorpion, Lewis Tan as Cole Young and Joe Taslim as Bi-Han / Noob Saibo. Damon Herriman will also return for the sequel, but as Quan Chi instead of the role he played in the first movie, the voice of Kabal.

The release date for Mortal Kombat II in theaters is May 15, 2026.
