The Mortal Kombat II cast reveals who’s most likely to prank the set

According to the Mortal Kombat II cast, even Shao Kahn cracks jokes on set.

At New York Comic Con 2025, Popverse’s Ashley V. Robinson had the chance to sit down with several cast and crew members of the upcoming Mortal Kombat II movie for a conversation about a variety of topics. Cast members Karl Urban, Adeline Rudolph, Tati Gabrielle, and Martyn Ford, writer Jeremy Slater, director Simon McQuoid, and Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon were all present in The Studio for the exciting interview. And one of the facts revealed by the Mortal Kombat II cast and crew was which cast members were most likely to pull a prank on set.

The information was shared in response to a game that Robinson invited the interviewees to play, “Who would be more likely to?” Robinson would say something, and the interviewees would respond with who involved with the movie was most likely to engage in the stated activity. “Who is more likely to stage a prank while on set?” Robinson asked.

“Tati,” Rudolph answered without hesitation, causing Gabrielle to succumb to laughter. “Were you going to say me,” Rudolph asked. “I was actually going to say Joe Taslim,” Gabrielle answered. “Or this one,” she added, indicating Ford, who was seated beside her. “No,” asserted Ford. “I would never crack a joke on set.”

Gabrielle responded, “The lies he tells.” Soon director McQuoid joined in to back Gabrielle up. “That’s all he ever did,” McQuoid asserted. “He’s standing there next to me, up here with his big Shao Kahn helmet on, and out of the helmet comes these pathetic… jokes.”
