Steven Spielberg wants to keep you guessing about his summer 2026 movie even with the first trailer
What is going on in the trailer for Spielberg's upcoming movie Disclosure Day, and why does it sound like someone is farting?

I don't know about you, but I love a trailer that leaves a lot to the imagination. Think back on when you first saw the trailer for Bong Joon-ho's Parasite, M. Night Shyamalan's Old, and Zach Cregger's Weapons or Barbarian. Chances are, you probably couldn't have imagined where the plots of all those films ended up going.
Now, Steven Spielberg is taking a stab at his very own "What the hell did I just watch?" movie with the new trailer for his upcoming film, Disclosure Day. The film marks a reunion between Spielberg and screenwriter David Koepp, who wrote the screenplays for Jurassic Park and the Tom Cruise War of the Worlds movie. Check out the Disclosure Day trailer below.
Now, I'm going to be vulnerable for a minute and admit that I burst out laughing when the disembodied noises emanated from Emily Blunt's character during her weather report, because I thought they were fart sounds at first. Thankfully, I am no longer 12 years old, but I'm not the only person who had this response to the trailer. A commenter on YouTube wrote, "Weather lady got dem bubble guts," followed by a laughing emoji, while another said, "for a second [sic] i thought that was my stomach acting up after my morning coffee."
The trailer features some imagery that manages to combine both elements of M. Night Shyamalan's Signs, as well as the various character designs for the Unown species of Pokémon, information I'm not really sure what to do with yet. In another scene, a sedan bursts out of the sunroom of a house, which is not how you're supposed to drive a car, so clearly, the people of Disclosure Day are going through it. But hey, at least there's Eve Hewson there to help them figure it out.
Disclosure Day is set to arrive in theaters on June 12, 2026. Bring your Lactaid.
