It sure seems like Wednesday's Tim Burton and Jenna Ortega know something about a monster movie that we don't

Is it Medusa? Is it Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman? What are you talking about, Burton??

While Tim Burton has gone on record to say that he doesn't know anything about Beetlejuice 3, don't take that as inferring he's got nothing on the docket after Wednesday season 2 premiers on Netflix. Recently, Burton as much as confirmed that he was eyeing a new project in the future, particularly some sort of monster movie. But which monster movie?

Well, that's where we're a little unclear.

Burton recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter alongside Wednesday and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice star Jenna Ortega. Toward the end of the interview, the reporter on the scene asked the Batman director to confirm rumors of him helming a Sony film based on the mythological Greek monster Medusa.

"I don’t talk about anything until I’m doing it," was Burton's response, "I’ve had projects that I thought I was doing, and it got canceled. When that happens, it’s a soul destroying moment in life. I’ll let you know when I’m on the set making a movie. Even then, you never quite know."

Wow, that was cryptic - is there a long lost Tim Burton movie out there that's already been made but that he's just not telling us about? Probably not, but an answer like that does make one wonder. And speaking of wondering, Ortega's reaction to Burton's answer has us feeling even more like there's something going o we don't know about.

"I would love for you do to something based on the Japanese monster, though…" said the Scream star.

"Oh, don’t worry," responded Burton, "That could be happening."

It's a simple answer that raises a lot of questions. Which Japanese monster was Ortega referring to? And what does Burton mean that it "could be happening?" We know that Burton is attached to a remake of the 1958 cult classic Attack of the fifty Foot Woman (with Margot Robbie eyed to star, by the way), but that sure doesn't sound like what they're talking about here.

I guess you can't be Tim Burton if you're not just a little cryptic.

Wednesday Season 2 part 1 will be released on Netflix on August 6, with part 2 of the season coming September 3.
