In a city known for its big sights, here are the biggest and best things to see at New York Comic Con 2024
From anime heroes to nightmarish babies, New York Comic Con has it all.
Popverse's top stories of the day
- How many chapters or volumes of a manga go into a season of anime? Dan Da Dan's producer gives us the answer
- Assassination Classroom is a Shonen anime well worth revisiting, ten years on
- No, there isn't a Kraven the Hunter post-credits scene - but it does set up a sequel - SPOILERS!
New York Comic Con is, like the city it is based in, big, loud, and filled with sights that need to be seen with your own eyes. Something new is always right around the corner, but if you’re worried about missing out on the must-see stalls and displays at New York Comic Con 2024, we’ve got the showroom sights you cannot miss.
Of course, this is just our subjective opinion and you might find something else that takes your proverbial breath away, but here are our top five things to see at New York Comic Con 2024 as the show enters its final day!
Larger Than Life Shonen Heroes
It is pretty tough to miss the multi-story stars of Dragon Ball and One Piece looming over the showroom floor at New York Comic Con this year. The mighty Saiyan warrior is in his classic form and is poised to blast the Javits Center with a Kamehameha as soon as you enter the building, so he is pretty tough to miss. Just a few rows away is Monkey D. Luffy in his Gear 2 pose and looking for action. There is nothing quite like seeing your anime hero looming over you to remind you that yes, this is comic con.
Duo is Here to Remind You About Your Streak
If you thought you were safe from your Duolingo notifications while you were walking the showroom, think again.
Duo and Lily are at New York Comic Con for multiple meet-and-greets at the WEBTOONS Booth #2835. There is something so surreal about these figures, who are constantly pestering us to keep up with our language goals, walking around in front of us.
Fortunately, they aren’t bothered about our streak – they’re more interested in promoting the new series Duo Unleashed, available now on WEBTOON.
The Stuff of Little Nightmares
It isn’t just comics and film here at New York Comic Con – we’ve also got your gaming needs covered. Little Nightmares III looms large above the rest of the video games on the show floor, with a giant, terrifying baby reaching out of the abyss to grab you. And we mean "grab you" - just look at that horrifying hand in the image below.
This one doubles as a photo opportunity and nightmare fuel, so we recommend not missing out.
Become Weapon X
There are plenty of photo opportunities and backdrops scattered around the show floor, so you’ll definitely find one that works for your cosplay or fandom. However, our personal favorite is the Weapon X tank at the Heroes and Villains booth. Located at Booth 1335, they managed to capture the experience of having your skeleton coated with adamantium and your memories wiped to turn you into the perfect instrument of murder. (Offer especially open to Canadians.)
See Daredevil: Born Again costumes before they’re on TV
If there is one thing that New York Comic Con does best, it is bringing you things you can’t see anywhere else. While the panels are dropping news left and right, nothing beats getting up close to something from the TV. The Marvel booth has a pair of costumes on display from Daredevil: Born Again that give you a little insight into the upcoming show.
Both the Daredevil costume and Kingpin’s suit are there to see – if you don’t mind working your way through the crowds. (You can also see costumes from Disney+'s Agatha All Along, if you're into the spooky stuff or merely want to see how small Kathryn Hahn is for yourself.)
Bonus Sight: The New York Comic Con Merch Booth
No trip to NYCC is complete without a stop at the Merch Booth to get that official swag. This year, the booth is sporting some distinctive tentacles that make it tough to miss as you walk the showroom floor. If you’re after some cool merch to prove you were here, just make your way to the giant purple tentacle monster.
