What do you watch after the live-action One Piece? How about more anime One Piece?

As I'm writing this, we are mere hours away from the debut of Netflix's live-action One Piece. After years of speculation, then production, and finally some thrilling teasers and trailers in recent months, it's difficult to imagine how One Piece fans could get any more excited. Unless, of course, Netflix decided to release a whole bunch of One Piece content that had previously not been streaming.

Which is exactly what they're doing.

On September 1, just one day after the release of the highly-anticipated live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda's pirate manga arrives, Netflix is bringing a host of One Piece TV specials and movies to subscribers everywhere. Each of them is a chapter of the popular One Piece anime, produced by Toei Animation, and you can see the full list of them here:

  • One Piece Adventure of Nebulandia
  • One Piece Episode of East Blue - Luffy and His Four Crewmates' Great Adventure
  • One Piece Episode of Skypiea
  • One Piece Film: Gold
  • One Piece Heart of Gold
  • One Piece: 3D2Y - Overcome Ace's Death! Luffy's Vow to His Friends

Now, if you're new to One Piece and were thinking about starting with Netflix's live-action adaptation, you may be wondering why you'd need more content than what the first season will deliver. Well, consider this: there are 1,058 chapters of the One Piece manga, and 1,071 episodes of the anime. Compare that to the first season of the live show, which will be a total of... 8 episodes.

As you can see, there's plenty of content for new One Piece fans to get into after they've seen Netflix's take. And thanks to that platform, it'll be even easier to access it.

The live-action One Piece will stream on Netflix August 31.
