Spider-Man’s Social Dilemma from Disney Books is a middle grade graphic novel exploring the intersection of social media and superheroing. Peter Parker faces pressure from all aspects of his life as he struggles to balance great power and great responsibility. It’s the first of three middle grade novels set to bring Spider-Man stories a new generation in a new medium and features many Spidey staples.

Popverse’s Ashley V. Robinson was fortunate enough to sit down virtually with Spider-Man’s Social Dilemma writer and “Spider-Man super fan” (as dubbed by Publisher’s Weekly) Preeti Chhibber ahead of Spider-Man’s Social Dilemma’s release this week.

“The idea was: if I could write any Spider-Man book what would it look like?” Chhibber tells Popverse. “And my dream was always a slice-of-life romantic comedy for Peter and MJ and so that is where it started.”

Spider-Man’s Social Dilemma is illustrated by Nicoletta Baldari.
