A Quiet Place: How and where to watch the movie (and game) franchise in release and chronological order

Have fun binging, but maybe keep your volume low?

In 2018, the movie making some of the most noise at the box office was actually all about keeping silent. I'm talking, of course, about A Quiet Place, directed by John Krasinski and starring him and Emily Blunt. One of the most popular recent entries into the apocalyptic horror genre, the film grossed over $341 million at the box office and spawned a sequel.

If you're interested in seeing what the clamour (er, lack thereof?) is about , I've put together this watch order for A Quiet Place just for you. Silence your notifications (and maybe breathing) and check it out.

Considering there's only two entries in the entire Quiet place saga (so far...), all you need to know to watch the movies in release order is which came out first- but we've added the upcoming projects as well. And for those of you as bad at Roman Numerals as I am, it's not the one with 'Part II' in its title. Watch A Quiet Place in release order like so:

Now, say you're not a fan of non-linear storytelling. First of all, do NOT check out our Halloween watch order; that timeline is about as linear as an intestine. In terms of this horror franchise, though, watching the story linearly is not that difficult, at least if you know...

You'll have to break the movies up, since part of Part II actually happens before the events of the first Quiet Place film. Here's how to do just that, with timestamps to make it more convenient:

  • A Quiet Place: Day One (2024)
  • A Quiet Place Part II - 0:00-12:06
  • A Quiet Place
  • A Quiet Place part II - 12:07-1:37:08
  • A Quiet Place Part III (2025)

Now, this might be a little tricky if you've got A Quiet Place Parts I and II on DVD (although those of us that grew up watching the Lord of the Rings extended editions are perfectly fine with swapping discs out). If you're streaming the movies, though, keeping to this order is as simple as having two tabs open. Although, you are going to have to ask yourself...

Where can I watch A Quiet Place?

Since the Quiet Place universe is a product of Paramount Pictures, it shouldn't surprise you at all that both A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place Part II are available to stream on Paramount+. However, if you're looking for other options, A Quiet Place is also available with a Fubo subscription, and you can view A Quiet Place Part II on Prime Video.

With a total runtime of just over three hours and seven minutes, it won't take you long to get through the entire Quiet Place franchise in its current state. It only makes sense, then, that you might finish your binge by asking...

Will there be more chapters of A Quiet Place?

There's good, even great news to share on this front, horror fans. All the way back in 2021, while speaking to Collider, Quiet Place star Emily Blunt referred to the films as "a trilogy." In February of 2022, Deadline officially broke the news that A Quiet Place III was in development and aiming for a 2025 release. But even more exciting than that, it's not the next time that moviegoers will be able to visit the world of A Quiet Place.

Just a couple months after confirming the third movie in the trilogy, Deadline was back again to report a John Krasinski-produced spinoff set in the same universe, currently titled A Quiet Place: Day One. Preseumably a prequel to the core films, Day One will be directed by Michael Sarnoski and is slated for release on March 8, 2024. Of course, that's subject to change, especially considering the fact the WGA and SAG-AFRTA strikes just ended. And still, there's yet another chapter of the Quiet Place saga that hasn't been affected by the strikes at all.

That's right; fans will soon be able to enter the world of A Quiet Place themselves... via video game. The announcement came from Deadline again, this time in October of 2021. Saber Interactive, the publisher behind The Witcher 3, is teaming with developer iLLOGIKA to produce the game, whose story will be canon with the films.

The only bit of bad news in this department is that we're not sure when players can experience the project; its original announcement gave its release in 2022 and, well, it hasn't happened yet. No news of a new release date has been announced as of this writing, but as soon as we know, we'll pass the info along.

Until then, we'll be keeping our ears to the ground.
