Time for a rewatch: Scott Pilgrim vs the World returns to Netflix next week

Probably not a coincidence that the anime adaptation will be out a few weeks later.

Prepare yourselves, because Scott Pilgrim is coming back to Netflix. No, we’re not talking about the upcoming animated adaptation of Bryan Lee O'Malley’s iconic graphic novels – we’re talking about the 2010 live-action adaptation of Bryan Lee O'Malley’s iconic graphic novels. After being off the streaming platform for several months, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World will be back on Netflix starting November 1.

When it was released more than a decade ago, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World was already one of the most faithful adaptations of a graphic novel we’d seen. It managed to capture the aesthetic and the spirit of O’Mailey’s comic book, managing to be both stylish and approachable at the same time. With most of the cast, including Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Chris Evans, and Brie Larson, returning to voice their characters from Edgar Wright’s movie, expectations are high for Scott Pilgrim Takes Off to be a similar success.

Bringing Scott Pilgrim vs. The World back to Netflix is a welcome but unsurprising move, considering that fans will want to have a rewatch of the movie before the new anime adaptation is released a few weeks later. What better way to feed the hype machine than to give people more of what they want? Besides, how are we supposed to nitpick at every little difference between the two if we don’t have ready access to both? Netflix is just doing us all a favor.

Wondering what other shows are due out in the next few months? Here is our updated list of every series coming to broadcast and streaming services that you won’t want to miss.
