Prime Day Star Wars deals 2023: The best offers for the movies, the toys, and more (including Grogu!)

Here are today's best Star Wars Prime Day deals.

One of the things that set Star Wars apart from other action franchies was how much you could make it a part of your life. In addition to seeing the the movies, there were toys to play with, shirts to wear, bedsheets to sleep under, and drink cups to ... well, drink.. from. That's why for Amazon Prime Day 2023, Star Wars is one of the biggest group of franchises where you can get some deals.

You want Baby Grogu? The Empire never got him, but you can - or at least a life-size animatronic facsimile from Hasbro. You want to understand the Star Wars timeline better? There is a book about that. You want to get the original movie for your shelf? They've got that too.

And seemingly at wholesale.

But first, something completely free from the Star Wars universe for Amazon Prime Day 2023...

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

The hit Star Wars game The Force Unleashed was the fastest-selling game ever for the franchise at the time, but if you missed out (or lost your copy) you can now get it for free as part of your Amazon Prime membership. That's right - a free copy of the PC edition of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is available simply by being a current Amazon Prime member. Who doesn't want to play a morally ambiguious acolyte of Darth Vader, secretly planning to rebel against his master?

Star Wars Timelines

For anyone who finds themselves obsessed with lore and the concept of world building and keeping a mythology straight after a long period, I am here to tell you: Star Wars Timelines is most definitely the book you’re looking for. Not only does it place the events of… well, basically, every major (and many minor) piece of Star Wars canon — whether it happened in a movie, TV show, comic book, or novel — in a coherent order, but it also offers clues for what’s coming up in the future of the franchise. Don’t believe me? Just take a look at what it has to say about the origins of the Force, ahead of James Mangold’s upcoming movie announced at this year’s Star Wars Celebration Europe. Trust me: this is a book that every Star Wars fan is going to want to look at.

Star Wars: Baby Yoda Animatronic

We may never get to have our own little baby Grogu to care for — they’re all stuck back a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, remember — but this might be the next best thing: an animatronic that sounds and acts like the real thing… which, yes, means that he’s going to giggle, talk, and even sigh like the Mandalorian’s adopted little kid. The only thing he’s missing, besides genuine Force powers (which he wouldn’t have of course, because he’s just an animatronic and not actually alive), is his own little IG-11 to climb inside and cause absolute chaos with. Maybe next year.

Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope

It’s the one that started it all: the original Star Wars movie from all the way back in 1977 (albeit with a few digital tweaks and edits added along the way). Even 46 years later, it still stands as a testament to George Lucas’s vision, and the handiwork of the ragtag band of artisans, craftsmen, and true believers that he gathered together to make it happen back when no-one believed that it could. It’s a true classic in every sense of the term.

Amazon Echo Dot, Star Wars edition

Star Wars Speakers

Given that Lucasfilm prides itself in terms of the sound mixing of its releases, maybe you should think about the speakers you’re using to watch (and listen to, more importantly!) them. This Echo Dot — Amazon’s own speaker system, don’t you know — comes with special Star Wars-inspired stands (go for the Grogu, says I) and looks not unlike a Death Star, if you squint hard enough. Of course, given that the sound is going to be so good as a result of this speaker, you won’t even be thinking about squinting, or anything other than just how crisp everything sounds. Try it out by watching Star Wars Episode IV, and enjoy Darth Vader’s strained breathing in surprisingly high fidelity.
