How many Star Wars items do you have in your home? If your answer was more than two, then you have more than C-3PO. Anthony Daniels, the actor who played the beloved droid, has been an integral part of the Star Wars saga since the first film premiered in 1977. His character has been a toy, the star of a cartoon series, and even the mascot of a cereal brand. However, you wouldn’t know this if you were a guest at his home.

Speaking to a crowd at Megacon 2024, Daniels said that while he has great fondness for Star Wars, he and his wife don’t want to make their house into a museum. “Frankly, there are two things of Star Wars in our home. One of the things is a gold statue, it’s a present from Lucasfilm for 40 years of hard labor. The other one is an item I was given. It’s a Lego statue, a bit rocky, like a piece of artwork. It was given to me by the producers of Lego Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles, and it was a beautiful piece of pop art. And those are two things that might give you a clue to my career.”

Daniels said that he always believed a home should play down a person’s celebrity, a practice he got from one of his Star Wars co-stars. The actor then spoke about the time he visited Sir Alec Guinness, and was surprised at the placement of the actor’s Academy Award. “Very discreetly over the fireplace was an Oscar. I thought that was the way to do it. You shouldn’t hide it, but neither should you want to make a big deal out of it,” Daniels said.

That’s right, in addition to being a great Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi was also a masterful decorator.
