The Popverse team have travelled a long way to make it to the halls of Star Wars Celebration by storm, and we're having a really awesome time running around the convention floor, attending panels, and checking out (and sharing) all the amazing experiences that Celebration has to offer.

Join us as we sit in on a panel featuring Anthony Daniels himself, as he talks about his experience brining C3-P0 to live over the years. Make sure to stay tuned as we bring you live coverage on this page.

The official panel description from the Star Wars Celebration website reads, “Go behind the mask with Anthony Daniels as he recounts his years bringing your favorite protocol droid to life. Watch as he chronicles iconic moments, fan-favorite stories, and perhaps some things you have never seen or heard before!"

Popverse will be liveblogging the entire panel as it happens, so keep an eye on this page to follow along with what's happening at I am C3-P0 live, or come back later to this page to read a moment-by-moment breakdown of all of the best bits of the panel.

Anthony Daniels will be a guest at Star Wars Celebration 2023! So if you're thinking about attending, check out the roundup of our Star Wars Celebration 2022 coverage.

Our live coverage of this event has finished.

We have our seats in the Galaxy stage. Can't wait to see C-3P0 himself!
We are watching a truly amazingly terrible video of C-3P0 singing about good Covid health guides.
Anthony Daniels is here!!
Daniels is playing a Jedi Mind trick "I am not here." He's coaching the audience to respond "You are not here."
Anthony Daniels is wearing a very fancy shiny gold sequin suit jacket.
He has set off a little confetti popper. Very festive.
Daniels dramatically announced, "I am the only person, not only in this room, but on the entire planet-- throughout the entire galaxy. I am the only person who has been in all nine Star Wars movies."
"Do you dare?" Daniels directs towards an audience member who has said that they haven't seen a single Star Wars movie.
Daniels is asking fans what Star Wars is about. They've answered "Family," "War in the stars." Daniels corrects them-- "It's a story about a golded droid. It's a story about me."
When asked which Star Wars film was Daniels' favorite to work on, he turns the question to the crowd. He's asking people to cheer for their favorite Star Wars film.
"There's always something to debate. There's something brilliant about all of those films. It's not about the order you watch them in, it's the way you watch them," Daniels says. "If you follow my way, you can see them much better, and you can concentrate on the really important good stuff." Daniels shares a sped-up cut of Star Wars that ONLY shows C-3P0s bit. "You can do that with all of the movies," he says.
"Working with Oscar Isaac who kind of embodied part of Harrison Ford's meanness to C-3P0," Daniels shares about some fun scenes which were cut out of the later films.
"We were talking yesterday was the 20th anniversary of Attack of the Clones," Daniels shares. "I had fun too. I had forgotten alot about it, I don't watch these films on a daily basis. There were a lot of things that I did enjoy." Daniels shares about a "quiet, soulful" moment in Attack of the Clones when Anakin comes back to Tattoine with Padme. Padme helps C-3P0 come together as a "whole droid" with covering and all (something Anakin had overlooked when he had build 3P0).
Daniels also shares a story about when Natalie Portman was meant to add 3P0's face plate on, but it (having been held together by magnets) fell right off.
"Thank you all for wearing masks. Do you realize, I have been wearing a mask for 45 years. Suck it up!" says Daniels
"It might be Cleopatra... it could be the name of a play that you're not allowed to name," Daniels responds to a question about his favorite Shakespeare play.
"My life changed utterly in 1975, when a phone call invited me to meet with George Lucas," Daniels recalls. "Why did I, a Shakespearean actor want to be in a low budget science fiction film as a robot?"
"I was really pleased... Alec Guinness had been so good to me on those first films..." and then three days later, he realized that Anakin had been the bad one, the other one. Whoops!
Anthony Daniels now shares about his memoir I am C-3P0
Daniels just shared an image (sorry, I tried to get it, but it moved so quickly) of his planner on the day he was to meet George Lucas for the first time (at 12:30)
Daniels is reading from the C-3P0 comic book from Marvel Comics about the red arm. Yay comics!
IT is a dramatic reading! Wonderful!!
"I am taking one last look at my friends" Daniels says to the crowd
