Zac Efron is looking ripped as heck in the first trailer for wrestling drama The Iron Claw

Thankfully, professional wrestlers are not known for wearing shirts.

Zac Efron has always been a good-looking guy, but in recent years he’s built up a physique worthy of a Marvel hero. Of course, what is the point of putting that much work in the gym if you’re not going to show it off, which Efron looks poised to do in the upcoming wrestling drama, The Iron Claw. Decked out in spandex shorts and very little else, Zac Efron is looking positively ripped in the film’s first trailer.

The Iron Claw is a sports biography about the supposedly cursed Von Erich family of professional wrestlers, who achieved fame during the 1970s and 80s as part of the World Class Championship Wrestling promotion. The WCCW was a precursor to the WWE and other popular wrestling programs which rose to fame in the 1980s and 90s. A24 just released the first trailer for the film, which promises to deliver the perfect mix of drama, action, and sweaty, half-naked men that wrestling fans have come to expect from the sport.

Efron (and his intensely muscular back) plays Kevin Von Erich, the eldest son of the Von Erich wrestling family, while Jeremy Allen White plays his equally ripped younger brother Kerry Von Erich. The film also stars Harris Dickinson, Stanley Simons, Holt McCallany, and Lily James. Real-life professional wrestler Chavo Guerrero Jr. serves as both wrestling consultant and actor, portraying The Shiek in the film. AEW star Ryan Nemeth will also make an appearance in the film as Gino Hernandez. The Iron Claw is due to be released on 22 December.
