Popverse is going to Thought Bubble!

Thought Bubble is a destination convention for comic creators and tastemakers of the industry - so of course we're there as well!

Popverse attends over a dozen comics and pop culture conventions each year, and as we get settled into our second year in operation and the support we have from our readers and members - we're expanding.

This fall, we're going to Thought Bubble.

That's right, Popverse will be in attendance at this year's Thought Bubble comic festival and convention over in Yorkshire, in the United Kingdom. Popverse's Graeme McMillan will be there for both days of the convention in mid-November and then some, as part of an extended trip in the environs of the United Kingdom this fall.

For those unaware, Thought Bubble is a UK comic convention built more in the style of European comics festivals like Angoulême, with events expanding beyond the traditional con fare, including live arts performances, parties, and more. Unlike other conventions, the focus for this event is exclusively on comics and the creators who make them; indeed, it was even founded by a creator, with Tula Lotay starting the show back in 2007.

Although Lotay is no longer running the event - she stepped back in 2022 to concentrate on her creative career - she left the show in good hands, with Nabil Homsi, owner and director of U.K. retailer Traveling Man (and Lotay's former employer), taking over as managing director.

Stay tuned to Thought Bubble and Popverse for more details about what Popverse will be doing at the destination show, from panels we'll be moderating to interviews we'll be conducting, the news we'll be breaking, and the panels we'll be liveblogging.

Here's a list of all the upcoming comic conventions.
