It has been one of our favorite shows this season, which makes the fact that we’re getting more Akane-banashi that much sweeter. With the current season coming to an end over the weekend, we got the announcement that Akane-banashi Season 2 is already in the works and is set to debut in January 2027.

The final episode of Akane-banashi Season 1 aired on Saturday, which is when the new announcement of Season 2 came about. The series has been shown on multiple streaming platforms, including a free YouTube channel in the US and other regions. Otherwise, the series is airing on Netflix.

As often happens with anime series, the production committee took the end of the current season as an opportunity to announce the next season. After Akane-banashi Episode 12 aired on Saturday, June 20, 2026, it was announced that a second season was already in production. That is good news for fans who have enjoyed the show, but the best news is that we won’t even have to wait that long before we get to see the next season.

According to the announcement, Akane-banashi Season 2 is coming in January 2027, less than a year after the previous season began airing. It didn’t include any word on whether it would continue being free-to-watch in the US. It seems likely that they’ll keep the same format, but it is also possible that Netflix, seeing the growing demand for the show, will try to add it to its streaming library between now and then.

Akane-banashi Season 2 is coming in January 2027. Season 1 just finished airing and can be found on YouTube for fans in the US and other select regions.
