Of all the iconic shows in its catalog, HBO seems least willing to allow Sex and the City to ever end. In addition to a pair of films and a prequel series, the network brought (most of) the cast back for the sequel series, And Just Like That… While it was originally billed as a limited series, And Just Like That… season three’s release date is fast approaching and sees three of the original four main stars return once again.

When it first returned in 2021, the idea was that And Just Like That… would take the place of the canceled third movie in the Sex and the City series and would be a one-off revival of the celebrated HBO series. However, the show proved to be enough of a hit that they brought it back again in 2023 and again in 2025. Now And Just Like That… season three’s release date has been confirmed for May 29, 2025. The 12-episode season will be released weekly, with the final episode airing on HBO on August 14, 2025.

Fans of And Just Like That… have gone back and forth on the show since it debuted in 2021. Kim Cattrell refused to return as Samantha due to believing she “went past the finish line playing Samantha” on the show and didn’t want to come back for yet another revival. The series also shocked viewers when they killed off Carrie’s husband Mr. Big in the first episode of season one, robbing her of the Happily Ever After that she’d earned through the series. However, that hasn’t stopped HBO from trying one more time to see if they can recapture the Sex and the City magic.

And Just Like That… is returning for its third season on May 29, 2025 on HBO.
