We were warned last summer that we’d have to wait until 2026 for the fourth season of Bridgerton, and now Netflix has made that official — but in a move designed to soften the blow, the streamer has also renewed the series for two more seasons, as well.
Confirmation of the fourth season’s release year — but only the year, for now! — came in a special release from Lady Whistledown’s Society Papers, which also revealed that Netflix has ordered seasons 5 and 6 of the popular society tale. “Do celebrate accordingly,” wrote the always understated Lady Whistledown, or whoever her Netflix-appointed ghostwriter may be.
“In the meantime, do prepare yourselves, for Bridgerton Season 4 shall debut in 2026,” the announcement continued. “It would seem this author is going to be quite busy.” (You can see the whole document below.)
Yes, but when are you going to be so busy, Lady Whistledown? When in 2026? It’s been almost a year since the end of season 3, after all. And for that matter, is the new season going to follow Season 3’s example of being split in two for maximum release impact?
So many questions, so little time. Well, in that we’re probably at least a year away from Season 4, maybe not so little time after all. While you’re pining, however, just take a look back at this Sneak Peek from Valentine’s Day 2025.
