Who will be the new Batman in James Gunn’s DC Universe? That’s the question everyone is asking, including DCU star John Cena. The next cinematic Batman is slated to appear in the (unscheduled) upcoming DC Studios film The Brave and the Bold, but there’s always the possibility he’ll make his debut in an earlier project... especially with both Clayface and Dynamic Duo being set in the new DCU version of Gotham City.

DC Studios co-president Gunn hasn’t clued Peacemaker actor John Cena in on his plans with the Dark Knight, but Cena hopes that whatever those plans are, Peacemaker will be involved.

“I would just like to see Peacemaker and Batman in the same room,” John Cena says during a panel at Fan Expo Boston 2025. “I don’t care who Batman is. I might get one of my younger brothers to put on a Batman costume. I’ll steal the Peacemaker outfit just so we could make it happen. I don’t know, but I know there’s a lot of interest around both characters and if I’ve learned one thing about entertainment, when you guys are interested, eventually someone hears you. So, I’m crossing my fingers and hopefully that can happen.”

Cena mentioned his brother. Does anybody know how he looks in a batsuit?

Peacemaker season two is currently streaming on HBO Max.
