Most people spend a lifetime trying to have a successful entertainment career. John Cena has two.
John Cena first made a name for himself as a legendary wrestler, where he rose through the ranks to become WWE's go-to guy when it comes to holding its top championship, doing it more times than anyone there. He’s also a successful actor, starring in films such as F9, The Suicide Squad, and Bumblebee. Cena was recently asked if he prefers acting because you get hurt while you’re wrestling. The entertainer had the perfect response.
“Acting, they hurt your feelings a lot too,” Cena says during a panel at Fan Expo Dallas 2025. “I don’t know if you’ve seen some of my stuff or read the reviews. They will hurt your feelings.”
As for which career he prefers, Cena enthusiastically says it’s wrestling.
“To be quite honest, and this isn’t a knock, I don’t think this is going to lose me any movie jobs because I do give my all to every opportunity I have. Just like we’re here today, I’m trying to answer all your questions. I love wrestling so much more. So much more.”
“There’s no denying the magic in an arena for a live WWE broadcast. I love wrestling so much more, and I’m fine saying that. If that knocks me out of the movie business, I’ll be accountable for saying that.”
If the cheers from the crowd were any indication, I don’t think anyone will be too upset at Cena for his answer. Besides, you never forget your first love.
