Gilmore Girls heartthrob Jared Padalecki reveals he's Team Jess 25 years later, but Matt Czuchry thinks there's still a case to be made for Team Logan
"They all had their issues," said Gilmore and Supernatural star Padalecki, "but today I'm team Jess." Czuchry clings to Logan's chances, "if he changes his life."

I'm sorry, but I just don't think the Team Edward/Team Jacob debate has the same spark as the question of who Rory Gilmore should be with. For one thing, the latter is a threeway competition as opposed to the 1-on-1 Twilight fan conflict, and for another, the Gilmore Girls debate has just been around longer. In fact, two of the parties involved in the longstanding pop-culture battle are still hashing it out, a quarter century later.
Specifically, those two combatants are Jared Padalecki (who plays Rory's first boyfriend, Dean) and Matt Czuchry (who plays pampered badboy Logan). Recently, the pair was interviewed by People Magazine for a feature regarding the Sexiest Man Alive 2025, and it shouldn't surprise you that the decades-old love triangle was a topic of conversation. What may surprise you, though, were their respective opinions on the matter.
For example, Padalecki confesses that he believes fellow heartthrob Jess (played by Milo Ventimiglia) is the better longterm partner for Rory. "I'm team Jess, funny enough," says Supernatural's Sam Winchester "Just knowing the show and having some idea of where Rory was in her life. They all were flawed, let's be clear. Well, I'll say Dean was flawed. They all had their issues, but today I'm team Jess."
Czuchry, on the other hand, isn't as willing to give in for his fictional avatar.
"I think right now," The Good Wife actor says, "Because we had that part on Netflix that went back, and we had that whole aspect too, which was great, it was so much fun — but I think if he changes his life, then I could see Logan coming back and being with Rory. He would be in a completely different place in his life."
Hmm. Could be, Matt, could be. Personally, I've always been Team Paris.
Gilmore Girls is streaming now on Netflix.
