Hazbin Hotel actor Amir Talai says that season 2 of the Prime Video show is “act 2 of a musical”

Amir Talai, who plays Alastor on Hazbin Hotel, says the future seasons of the show will go deeper than ever before

Season two of Hazbin Hotel has set up a bright future for the show on Prime Video. There were major revelations about characters' ulterior motives, as well as hints about the show's future big bads. Unlike the show's first season, Hazbin Hotel's sophomore season felt less rushed because creator Vivienne Medrano knew that there was an enthusiastic fanbase for the show that would be returning for future seasons.

Amir Talai, who voices Alastor on Hazbin Hotel, described season two of Hazbin Hotel on The Joe Vulpis Podcast as akin to a musical theater production. "Season two is like the opening of act two of a musical. It's like 'Okay, we got you through the sort of fun and games of act one, but... we’re about to go deeper, we’re going to introduce some themes you might not be ready for and that are going to take some time to tell," he teased.

"Now that we know that we have [seasons three and four] it’s so liberating for a creator like [Hazbin Hotel creator] Viv [Medrano] to be given that berth and say, ‘You’ve got time to tell the story,'" Talai continued.

Medrano has already hinted at events that will take place in seasons three, four, and the yet-unannounced fifth season of the show, giving Hellaverse fans plenty of room to speculate on what's to come for Charlie and her hellish compatriots. As I'm sure we'll see in succeeding seasons, the debut of Hazbin Hotel was just getting the stage set for the story Medrano wants to tell. Now is when the real meat of the storytelling begins.

Hazbin Hotel is streaming on Prime Video.
