It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia season 17 release date: The gang returns to FXX this summer

Charlie, Dee, Dennis, Mac and Frank are heading to Abbott Elementary in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia season 17's premiere episode.

The long awaited return of the Paddy's Pub gang is nigh! This summer, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia season 17 will arrive on FXX, with each episode available for streaming the next day on Hulu. That means you can look forward to more misanthropic misadventures with Charlie (Charlie Day), Dennis (Glenn Howerton), "Mac" (Rob McElhenney), "Dee" (Kaitlin Olson) and Frank (Danny DeVito) soon. And this season, you can also anticipate the crossover episode with another popular sitcom, Abbott Elementary.

The It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia season 17 release date is July 9 on FXX. The first two episodes of season 17 will be debuting on FXX on July 9. After the two-episode premiere, the remaining episodes of the eight episode season will be released on a weekly basis. Each episode will be available for streaming the next day on Hulu. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia originally debuted in 2005, and the sixteenth season concluded two years ago, in July 2023. Since there are so many exciting tv shows coming out this summer, you'll want to plan your viewing accordingly. Here's the trailer for It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia season 17:

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia season 17 will include the aforementioned crossover episode, "The Gang F***s Up Abbott Elementary." This is part two of crossover that began in the Abbott Elementary season 4 episode "Volunteers," which debuted on January 8, 2025. The season will also see Frank searching for, um, "love" via the undeniably romantic medium of reality television. And of course, this is just scratching the surface of the chaos that's in store. In addition to the main cast, you can expect to see the return of The Waitress (Mary Elizabeth Ellis) and the extremely long-suffering Matthew "Rickety Cricket" Mara (David Hornsby).

The It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia season 17 release date is July 9 on FXX.
