Law & Order season 25 release date: When the long-running series returns on NBC

The flagship Law & Order series returns to NBC this fall for its twenty-fifth season.

The long-running, seminal procedural series Law & Order will be returning to NBC soon for its twenty-fifth season. Originally debuting in 1990, Law & Order took an eleven-year hiatus between 2010 and 2021. Created by TV heavyweight Dick Wolf, Law & Order has become nothing short of a television institution. So, when can you expect the release date for Law & Order season 25 to arrive?

The Law & Order season 25 release date is Thursday, September 25 at 8/7c on NBC. New episodes will debut on a weekly basis afterward. Plus, you can stream the new episodes on Peacock the day after they air on NBC. While it's true that there are many exciting TV release dates to look forward this fall, Law & Order stands apart thanks to its incredibly long-lasting run. Currently, a trailer for Law & Order season 25 is not available.

According to NBC's website, viewers can look forward to additional collaboration between Detective Jalen Shaw (Mehcad Brooks) and Detective Vincent Riley (Reid Scott) in Law & Order season 25. In the decades since Law & Order first debuted, the franchise has grown considerably. Several of these shows are still ongoing, including Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Law & Order: Organized Crime and the Canadian series Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent. The original Law & Order: Criminal Intent ran for ten seasons before being canceled, while spinoffs Law & Order: Trial By Jury, Law & Order: LA and Law & Order: True Crime each ran for one season apiece.

Law & Order season 25 will debut on NBC on September 22.
