The science fiction drama Lost was full of plenty of surprises. One of the biggest twists was the moment the island teleported at the end of season four. Who could’ve predicted it?
It turns out that Sawyer actor Josh Holloway predicted it sometime during the filming of season one. He even told the producers about it.
“I thought I was understanding things,” Holloway says during a panel at Florida Supercon. “I went to Damon [Lindelof] and Carlton [Cuse] the first season and said, ‘The island is like the Death Star. It moves.’ And they got all weird and irritated with me. And I was like, ‘I didn’t say that! I’m out!’ And I never mentioned anything about theories again.”
It wasn’t hard for Holloway to put the theories out of his mind, since his character Sawyer mostly stayed away from the island’s various conspiracies.
“He was on this island, he didn’t understand what was going on. No one did. Sawyer was just less concerned about the mysteries of it all. He was just like, ‘Life’s a bitch. Okay, whatever. Survive.’”
Still, it must have been pretty vindicating for Holloway when he got that season four script where the island moved. I wonder if the producers got the idea from him?
