My Hero Academia studio releases first trailer (and cast details) for new assassin love story series MarriageToxin

MarriageToxin has powerful Spy x Family vibes and we can't wait to see how the romantic comedy anime plays out considering its brilliant concept.

If you’re sad that season three of Spy x Family is coming to an end, don’t be. Not only are there plenty of both funny and heartbreaking stories from the Forgers to come, but we’ve also got another romantic-comedy-action manga that is getting an anime adaptation. MarriageToxin is coming in April 2026, and now we’ve got the first trailer for the assassin-turned-marriage candidate anime coming next year from the studio behind My Hero Academia.

MarriageToxin was first announced to be getting an anime adaptation in October 2025, but this is the first time we’ve seen studio Bones Film’s new anime in action. The original manga by Joumyaku and Mizuki Yoda follows Hikaru Gero, an assassin from the Poison Clan. He specializes in killing his targets with the perfect cocktail of drugs, but his awkward nature and lack of experience with normal people mean he has absolutely no marriage prospects. This means that his younger sister is tasked with carrying on the family line, even though she wants to marry her girlfriend instead. Gero asks Mei Kinosaki, a famous marriage swindler who has convinced multiple men into marrying them, to marry him. Instead, Kinosaki agrees to train Gero in the art of romance.

With Gero’s lethality and Kinosaki’s ability to manipulate people, the pair becomes a powerful duo in the underground with a single mission: to help Gero find love.

In addition to the new trailer, we’ve also got a new key visual for MarriageToxin that shows the two lead characters against a backdrop of some of the other assassins – both friend and foe – that they will encounter along the way. The new announcement has also confirmed new voice actors for the MarriageToxin anime adaptation.

  • Anna Nagase as Kyoko Himekawa
  • Mariya Ise as Shizuku Ushio
  • Asaki Yuikawa as Shiori Ureshino
  • Soma Saito as Genya Naruko
  • Hinano Shirahama as Kimie Arashiyama
  • Sima Tsuchiya as Piichi Nakagawa

MarriageToxin is already becoming one of our most anticipated anime of 2026, with its mixture of romance, comedy, and action. The manga is still ongoing and is available on the Shonen Jump app, making now the perfect time to get caught up. Just remember: To win love, you’ve got to play with poison.
