Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. used Chuck Norris’s son as their stunt stand-in for Ghost Rider

Eric Norris, son of martial arts actor Chuck Norris, provided many of the stunts for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., including Ghost Rider’s motorcycle scenes

Did you know that Chuck Norris’s son was Ghost Rider in the MCU?

No, this isn’t some weird piece of made-up trivia from the popular Chuck Norris facts meme. When Ghost Rider appeared during Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season four, the character was played by Gabriel Luna, while the stunt-riding was done by Eric Norris, son of the popular martial arts actor Chuck Norris.

Eric Norris had a pretty good resume going into his time on S.H.I.E.L.D., having previously worked as a stock car driver, and winning the 2002 NASCAR Winston West Series Championship.

According to S.H.I.E.L.D. actress Chloe Bennet, working with Norris and his stunt team was fun, because they let her do stuff the normal directing units wouldn’t do. “The day that I got to ride on top of the Ghost Rider car was fun,” Bennet says during a panel at Dragon Con 2025. “I thought the whole time, this is making it, and this is the best version of Disneyland and anything you could ever possibly imagine.”

“We had so many blocks of iconic areas of downtown LA blocked off, and I literally was with a stunt unit. When you’re on with the stunt unit, it feels like you’re with the cool uncle. You’re not with real production, you’re with the people who are like, ‘No, it’s okay. You can do it. Let’s just try.’ There are less rules when there kind of should be more rules. I had Eric Norris, who is Chuck Norris’s son, he was our stunt driver. Eric was great, he did a lot of Ghost Rider’s stunt driving and I was in an umbilical rig, so they drilled a hole in the top of the car, and I had a harness on, and they literally had someone holding the rope inside the car.”

“I really was up there fighting for my life on that car. I was really holding on, like my fingers were bruised at the tips, which is like a crazy look. I have a photo of the tops. Getting to drive through all the cars was crazy. It was so fun, and we did it for seven hours and I just had a blast. I didn’t want to get off.”
