Daredevil star Charlie Cox knows people will make headlines out of his MCU musings, so he’s more careful with how he answers panel questions

This weekend I watched a livestream of the Daredevil panel at C2E2 2026, and I could almost swear Charlie Cox was talking about me. He also made it clear he was one step ahead of me in a game I didn’t know we were playing.
As a writer for Popverse, I watch panels like this with an eye for stories, and I pitch those stories to my editors. And thus, when Charlie Cox was asked which Marvel character he wanted to team up with, I leaned closer to my computer screen, ready to hear his answer. After all, this would be an interesting story that would interest our readers.
However, Charlie had his own ideas.
“It’s so dangerous to answer that question because within ten minutes there are headlines saying, ‘Daredevil star Charlie Cox wants this character to show up,’ and then people start believing it,” Charlie Cox said in response to a question about which Marvel character he'd like DD to team up with in the future.
I don’t know how to describe the feelings I had when I heard this answer. To give you an idea, imagine seeing a television star talk about what you do at your office, and they’re really specific about it, despite being hundreds of miles away.
That headline that Charlie used as an example? I was prepared to write something like that. In fact, I’ve written articles with similar headlines. It’s like Charlie Cox was reading my mind or seeing into my soul.
Still, later during the panel Cox did express a desire to see Daredevil and Spider-Man get together. “I always imagined that at some point in that big of a universe, in that big of a world, that he would team up with Spider-Man," he admitted, to cheers from the crowd.
This is where I would write a headline like ‘Daredevil star Charlie Cox wants to team-up with Spider-Man,’ but now that I know Charlie has his eye on me, I’ll refrain. It appears Charlie Cox is aware of my game, and I know better than to take on Daredevil.
