If you thought Daredevil: Born Again season one was wild, it sounds like season two will completely blow it away. Wilson Fisk is now Mayor of New York City, and he’s using his power to strike at Daredevil. Season one ends with the revelation that Vanessa Fisk ordered Foggy Nelson’s death, and Mayor Fisk declaring martial law as chaos engulfs the city.

However, New York’s problems are only beginning. Kingpin actor Vincent D’Onofrio says that New York City will be an important character in season two, and its citizens should expect a lot of trouble.

“It’s so weird to talk about New York in the context of Marvel because there’s so many things going on in New York City,” D’Onofrio said during a panel at Dragon Con 2025. "I think recently, only like two or three weeks ago, I read an article where Kevin Feige said that it doesn’t matter as much anymore. That they’re going to do what they want to do in the movies and they’re going to do what they want to do in TV, and we shouldn’t get so wrapped up in where’s the mayor of New York and where’s Spider-Man. I think it gives each individual project more freedom.”

Such a plan "certainly gives us a lot of freedom because there’s so much going on," he continued. "I mean, just thinking about the second season, which don’t ask me too much, but it’s an intense season, and it’s an intense story in New York, and one of the main characters is New York City. New York is affected immensely by the second season. I mean the metaphor would be the city ignites, and not in a good way.”

With Fisk declaring martial law, and Matt assembling a team to fight against Fisk’s anti-vigilante task force, this doesn’t come as a surprise. Things are going to get spicy, and it’s going to make for some exciting television.

Daredevil: Born Again season two premieres on Disney+ in March 2026.
