The new trailer for Marvel Studios' Ironheart might be teasing an unexpected tie-in to the Vision show
In a new trailer for the Ironheart show on Disney+, Marvel Studios introduces us to what looks like a new AI entering the MCU ahead of next year's Vision series

Artificial intelligence has been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since it got started with 2008's Iron Man, so it stands to reason that the Ironheart series on Disney+ would feel incomplete without Riri Williams creating an AI of her own. After all, who is Iron Man without the help of J.A.R.V.I.S. or F.R.I.D.A.Y. (though I guess that is the plot of Iron Man 3)? As the upcoming Vision show assembles its cast of AI characters, it looks like the second trailer for Ironheart is teasing a new kid on the block.
At the end of the aforementioned trailer, a young woman materializes before Riri Williams' eyes. Riri asks her, "What are you," and the voice responds, "Your greatest creation yet. Who the hell else would it be, bish?" Earlier, we had seen this woman in a flashback sequence that also showed Riri's stepfather, whose death she alludes to. Now, if you know anything about Ironheart comics, you'd know that Riri's stepfather Gary and her best friend, Natalie, were killed by stray bullets from a drive-by shooting. Given that the actress who appears as Riri's "greatest creation yet," Lyric Ross, is credited as playing a character named "Natalie Washington," then this leads us to believe that the MCU's Riri has created an AI version of her late best friend. Take a look at the trailer below.
But what's the big deal with having another AI character in the MCU? Well, the trailer has dropped not long after news broke that T'Nia Miller was cast as the android-turned-Avenger Jocasta alongside Emily Hampshire as an AI called E.D.I.T.H. in next year's Vision series on Disney+. The MCU's version of Vision, obviously, was "born" out of J.A.R.V.I.S. and Ultron during Avengers: Age of Ultron, with actor Paul Bettany making the jump from voicing J.A.R.V.I.S. to playing the Avengers' android buddy. To put it simply, Marvel seems to be building up to doing something with AI in the Vision series, and Riri creating her own AI in an upcoming series is a connection that we can't ignore. Considering that in the MCU, Tony Stark created both J.A.R.V.I.S. and Ultron, it would only be natural for his successor, Ironheart, to take a crack at making her own... but who knows where she might be seen next?
Ironheart will begin streaming on Disney+ on June 24, 2025 at 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET.
