Michael Chiklis loves comic conventions as a chance to get out of the Hollywood bubble and reconnect with fans

During New York Comic Con 2025, actor Michael Chiklis sat down for a conversation in the Pop Spot with Popverse’s Ashley V. Robinson. Chiklis, who has starred in movies like 2005’s Fantastic Four and TV shows like The Shield, shared plenty of interesting information with Robinson. And among the details he dropped was what he considers to be his favorite part of comic conventions.
Robinson opened the conversation by asking Chiklis how his NYCC experience had been so far. “Really lovely,” Chiklis answered. And then he continued: “I’m struck always when you go to these things and… We were talking about this earlier in the car here: fans come up to you and get really emotional and talk about work that you’ve done over the years and how it moved them. That’s why you do it, right? So when you get into contact with that…”
Chiklis continued, “All too often we’re in our bubbles, working and everything, and you don’t realize… you feel sometimes like, ‘What am I even doing this for?’ And all of the sudden you connect with fans and people who really love and appreciate work that you’ve done, and it makes you feel validated. It’s lovely.”
