You have to hear Riverdale star Cole Sprouse's pitch to be Big Mom in Netflix's live-action One Piece TV series
The former Riverdale actor has a particular pirate in mind.

Cole Sprouse has an interesting acting career. At six years old he and his twin brother Dylan starred in their first movie, the Adam Sandler comedy Big Daddy. The Sprouse twins spent their teenage years headlining the Disney Channel sitcom The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and its sequel series The Suite Life on Deck. Cole Sprouse then went on to portray Jughead Jones in Riverdale, a CW drama that reimagined the characters from Archie Comics.
It’s been quite a career for Cole Sprouse, but he isn’t done yet. Speaking to a crowd at Fan Expo Chicago, Sprouse spoke about what he wants out of his next role. It’s a big one, in more ways than one.
“I know Matt [Owens] really well, who does the One Piece live-action. We’re friends. We talked back in the day before he got it off the ground,” Sprouse said. He was then asked what role he would like to play on the show, which gave him pause. “That’s a really good question. Maybe Wapol”
“I’ll get really shredded and play a Kaidou. Huge! Or Big Mom. I’d kill Big Mom to be honest. I would kill Big Mom. I’m going to tell Matt actually. If you make it to Whole Cake Island, or whatever that arc is called, I’m Big Mom. Don’t even think about it.”
One Piece season 2 has finished filming and it’s expected to stream on Netflix sometime in the second half of 2025. I don’t expect that we’ll see Cole Sprouse as Big Mom, but it would be a pleasant surprise.
