Being a teenager is difficult. You're trapped in a building with other people your age for hours on end, five days a week. Things that were once easy, like making friends or finding a table in the cafeteria, suddenly become battlegrounds. Throw in things like psychic powers, werewolves, and shapeshifters, and things get even messier from there.
Ahead of the first part of Wednesday season 2, Jenna Ortega elaborated on where the Addams daughter is at this point in time for Netflix's Tudum. Tudum wrote that Wednesday has "suddenly become... popular?!" after saving Nevermore at the end of season 1. Going further, Jenna Ortega said, “The atmosphere at Nevermore in the beginning of the school year is a living hell. It’s this terrible situation for Wednesday and she’s very upset." A situation familiar to introverts everywhere.
If Wednesday Addams is good at anything, it is bluntly telling the world exactly how she feels. It is, however, up to the world to decide whether or not they're going to listen to her. I don't doubt that Wednesday will find a way to detach herself from her cohort of fans at Nevermore. Let's hope for her sake, and the life of her roommate, Enid, that she can before it's too late.
Wednesday, season 2 part 1 will be released on Netflix on August 6, 2025.
