There's a murderous fan canon to how Nickelodeon's Drake & Josh and iCarly are connected, and Crazy Steve actor Jerry Trainor believes it 100%

Jerry Trainor discusses the crazy (and twisted) fan theory that ties Drake & Josh to iCarly (and involves his character committing homicide)

Crazy Steve was always crazy, but is he crazy enough to kidnap and commit murder?

Various episodes of Nickelodeon’s Drake & Josh would feature Jerry Trainor as Crazy Steve, an unhinged movie theater employee who would erupt in anger over various random things. When Drake & Josh ended, Trainor took a role on Nickelodeon’s iCarly, which starred fellow Drake & Josh cast member Miranda Cosgrove.

On iCarly, Trainor and Cosgrove played brother and sister Spencer and Carly Shay, two characters who had no relation to Trainor and Cosgrove’s Drake & Josh roles.

Or did they?

Many iCarly viewers noticed Easter eggs that indicate that iCarly and Drake & Josh share a universe. Examples include various business names, original products, and fictional movies. If iCarly and Drake & Josh share a universe, does this mean Crazy Steve and Megan Parker have doubles?

Maybe, but there’s a fan theory that offers another twisted scenario. In a fit of rage, Crazy Steve murdered Drake, Josh, and their parents, then kidnapped Megan, took her to Seattle, and forced her to pretend to be his little sister Carly. When Crazy Steve actor Jerry Trainor was asked if he believed this theory, he responded with an enthusiastic affirmative.

“Yes, I do! And I’ll fight you if you don’t,” Trainor answers during a panel at GalaxyCon Richmond. “It’s real, and it’s twisted. What is the whole thing?”

The fan walked Trainor through the beats of the theory, describing how Crazy Steve forces Megan to pretend to be his sister Carly.

“Right, but it’s really Megan from Drake & Josh. It makes total sense when you watch it. How could you think otherwise? It’s all there. Yes, is the answer,” Trainor says.

This raises lots of continuity questions regarding the other iCarly characters, but all of that can be explained by people going along with Crazy Steve’s charade out of fear. Or maybe the entire series is just one of Crazy Steve’s delusions.

Either way, it certainly gives iCarly new context.
