Netflix shows off one of One Piece's most quietly understated locations in new S2 images
Loguetown feels like a typical silly arc in the manga, but its implications are felt throughout One Piece.

The journey to the Grand Line is a long one, but it has to start somewhere. Loguetown is the place where most pirates in One Piece go before they travel to the most dangerous strip of sea in the world, so we’re excited to see how Netflix brings it to life in season two. We already saw a bit of what Loguetown had in store for the Straw Hat pirates earlier this year, but now Netflix has given us a look at how this crucial part of the One Piece story looks in live-action.
The images that Netflix has released give us our first look at the live-action Loguetown as it will appear in One Piece. Interestingly, it shows Luffy moments before he does something incredibly stupid, looking up in reverence at the stand where Gol D. Roger met his end years before. In the manga, Luffy climbs up to stand where his hero died and ends up almost dead because of it. It becomes a whole thing and sets off one of the most manic chase sequences in the early parts of the manga.
Loguetown is a relatively brief arc in the manga, but it has implications far beyond its short run. It is the first time we see Captain Smoker, who doggedly chases the Straw Hats through the Alabasta arc. It features the return of Buggy the Clown and Alvida to nearly kill Luffy before he can reach the Grand Line. Finally, it has the sudden appearance of [REDACTED], who ends up being [REDACTED]’s [REDACTED].
The Straw Hats arrive at Loguetown when One Piece returns to Netflix in 2026.
