Netflix have promised a big update on One Piece season 2 by the end of May - and teased just how big Tony Tony Chopper's giant head is
A release date for One Piece season 2 is likely to be announced at the TUDUM even on May 31 from Netflix.

Listen, Netflix – One Piece fans have been very patient so far. We’ve watched the release date for season two slip from the schedule and become seemingly forgotten by the streamer. Meanwhile, we’ve had to be endlessly teased about the form that One Piece season two’s most anticipated character – Tony Tony Chopper – will take in the live action show. While we’re still waiting on both these points, it looks like we won’t be waiting too much longer as Netflix has promised an update on One Piece season two by the end of May.
The “update about an update” comes from the official One Piece Netflix social media accounts, which shared a picture of Luffy actor Iñaki Godoy to celebrate Monkey D. Luffy’s birthday on May 5, 2025. In the image, Godoy is holding a giant hat that clearly belongs to Tony Tony Chopper. Don’t get too excited, though; this doesn’t mean that Chopper will be a mixture of practical and CGI effects. More likely, this hat was used as the physical stand-in for the actors to act against. Still, it does give us a sense of how giant Chopper’s head is going to be when we finally see it in season two.
The biggest news comes from the text of the post, though. Netflix is promising that the next TUDUM event on May 31 is going to include an update about One Piece season two. The obvious update we expect to see is a release date and possibly official confirmation that they’re doing season three as well. However, we’re also hopeful that we’ll get to see a first look at Tony Tony Chopper at TUDUM this month. Heck, maybe even they’ll finally tell us who is voicing the adorable and terrifying reindeer/human hybrid.
We’re still waiting for a release date for One Piece season two from Netflix, but all signs are pointing to a 2026 release, followed by season three in 2027. We’ll just have to wait until May 31 to find out for sure.
