With Only Murders in the Building heading to London for its next season, it made sense for the Hulu hit to bring in some top local talent. In addition to getting actors from Taskmaster and Downton Abbey, Only Murders in the Building has engineered an unexpected Doctor Who reunion by casting two former Doctors for Season 6 – David Tennant and Jodie Whittaker.

David Tennant and Jodie Whittaker both played The Doctor in BBC’s long-running Doctor Who series, with Tennant playing the Tenth and Fourteenth Doctors while Whittaker played the Thirteenth Doctor from 2018 to 2022. While the future of the Doctor Who franchise feels very much up in the air right now, the former Doctors are ready for at least one more team-up.

Also joining the cast of Only Murders in the Building Season 6 are Nicola Coughlan (Derry Girls and Bridgerton), Jim Broadbent (Paddington and Bridget Jones Diary), Richard Ayoade (Taskmaster and IT Crowd), Adrian Lukis (The Bill), and Kathryn Hunter (Andor).

The influx of British talent comes as Only Murders in the Building travels from New York City, where it has been set so far, to London to solve a new murder. The principal cast of Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez will return in the sixth season of the show. The new cast includes a host of British talent to make the transition to its new setting as smooth and star-studded as possible.

Hulu streams Only Murders in the Building in the US, while Disney+ carries it in the UK.
