Marvel’s Mole Man is rumored to be Scooby Doo’s new owner

Fantastic Four: First Steps' own Paul Walter Hauser might be in Netflix's upcoming live-action adaptation of the Mystery Inc. gang as Scooby's owner. And no, we're not talking about Shaggy...

Scooby Dooby Doo, meet MCU.

No, we're not confirming that Mystery Inc. will be going toe-to-toe with Victor Von Doom later this year (although let's be honest, they'd kick his armored ass) - we're referencing what could be a casting crossover between the franchise giant and the next  project. Because apparently, Fantastic Four: First Steps baddie Paul Walter Hauser, who you might know as Mole Man, is joining Netflix's live-action Scooby Doo adaptation.

The casting rumor comes from What's on Netflix, who ran the story about Hauser joining Netflix's live-action Scooby Doo on March 10. But here's what's really interesting: according to the outlet, Hauser isn't joining as one of the meddling kids or a fleetly foiled phantom... but as "Scooby's original owner."

What does that mean? Search me, mystery lovers. For all I knew, Scooby's owner has only ever been one Norville "Shaggy" Rogers. That said, Netflix has been known to take existing cartoon characters and revise their lore before, especially when it comes to macabre mysteries (just check out how they handled The Addams Family). Unfortunately, though, it may be some time before we get an official answer as to Hauser's supposed identity in the show, to say nothing of his official casting announcement.

But I guess if there's one franchise where the reveal is usually worth the wait, it's this one.

Grant DeArmitt

Grant DeArmitt: Grant DeArmitt (he/him) likes horror, comics, and the unholy union of the two. In the past, and despite their better judgment, he has written for Nightmare on Film Street and Newsarama. He lives in Brooklyn with his partner, Kingsley, and corgi, Legs.
